Bethscheider v CMC Lawyers Pty Ltd[2018] QDC133

McGill considered a Application for Review of a Costs Assessors Certificate which was latter settled. His Honour considered the use of 6 minutes units and how they are charged. His Honour found that when calculating fees according to time, a 6 minute unit should not be considered as a distinct items, but rather must acutually be charged for actual time taken for the task. His Honour took no issue with principle of time based billing itself.

His Honour considered that for example receiving and sending two short items should not be considered as individual items but rather one unit to receive and send emails.
